They will dock to the station's Rassvet module at 8:07 a.m CDT (1307 GMT) on Friday (June 8), after a two-day rendezvous.
About two hours later, the hatches between the Soyuz and station will open and Prokopyev, Gerst and Auñón-Chancellor will be greeted by Expedition 56 commander Drew Feustel of NASA with flight engineers Oleg Artemyev of Roscosmos and Ricky Arnold of NASA.
Prokopyev, Gerst and Auñón-Chancellor will be on the space station through December.
On Monday (June 4), the Soyuz-FG rocket with the Soyuz MS-09 spacecraft was transported to the launch pad by train and erected into position.

A Russian military pilot, a U.S. physician and a German geophysicist have launched on a six-month mission to the International Space Station, where they will conduct science, perform spacewalks and... play soccer.
Roscosmos cosmonaut Sergey Prokopyev, Serena Auñón-Chancellor of NASA and Alexander Gerst of the European Space Agency (ESA) lifted off for the orbiting outpost (and sometimes football pitch) on Wednesday (June 6).

Soyuz MS-09 undocks from space station
Roscosmos cosmonaut Sergey Prokopyev, NASA astronaut Serena Auñón-Chancellor and Alexander Gerst of the European Space Agency departed the International Space Station to return to Earth on Thursday (Dec. 19), undocking their Soyuz MS-09 spacecraft from the Rassvet module at 7:40 p.m. CST (0140 GMT).
Due to an issue with Prokopyev's communications cable connector, he was unable to talk directly with Mission Control with his Sokol pressure suit's helmet closed. Gerst took over that role during the crew's descent.
A deorbit burn at 10:10 p.m. CST (0410 GMT) set up a landing southeast of the town of Dzhezkazgan, Kazakhstan at 11:03 p.m. CST (0503 GMT).

A cosmonaut and two astronauts have safely landed from the International Space Station, returning to Earth on board a spacecraft that had been the source of a leak aboard the orbiting outpost.
Sergey Prokopyev of Roscosmos, Alexander Gerst with the European Space Agency (ESA) and Serena Auñón-Chancellor of NASA touched down Thursday (Dec. 20) aboard Russia's Soyuz MS-09 spacecraft. Their landing at 12:02 a.m EST (0502 GMT or 11:02 a.m. local time) southeast of the town of Dzhezkazgan, Kazakhstan, brought the three crew members home after 197 days in space.
