Finding good imagery or scans on Russian space is far more difficult than for US or European astronauts. Some ideas though: - You can find portraits of those cosmonauts involved in joint or US projects on NASA's Human Space Flight site. There a portraits of the likes of Dezhurov, Tyurin, Treshchyov, Korzun, etc. - A German company, Space Services International, offers small 4"to6" prints with the official portraits of almost all cosmonauts in history, for a very fair price (2 Euro a pop. reductions for larger orders). Contact the owner, Tasillo Römisch, by e-mail: space.service@t-online.de - Videocosmos has a large archive of Soviet and Russian imagery and sells them at commercial prices. They also have a CD-Rom with cosmonaut photographs for a fair price. They also have a US sales representative. Those are medium-resolution images, so not good enough to have 8"to10" sizes made. Visit their site at: www.videocosmos.ru - In the good old days, Russian publishing houses as well as the Russian post office issued series of lithographs and stationery postcards with cosmonaut portraits. Namely I remember the 'Edition Planeta' series of 50 cards issued in 1982 and 1986. More recently, RKK Energiy published a similar set about their own cosmonauts. You might find these on ebay, through contacts to the Russian markets, on other auctions. Hope this helps, ------------------ Jürgen P Esders Berlin, Germany http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Astroaddies |
