It appears that Alexander Gerst built a makeshift "Earth projector" — essentially a pinhole camera — for use aboard the International Space Station. Spotted in this June 2019 photo with Christina Koch, the device covering the window at the center of the vestibule hatch inside the Harmony module (Node 2) is inscribed in Gerst's hand: Earth Projector — AlexPlace on nadir window during a day pass and switch off all lights. Then look up. Neat! I haven't found a photo or video showing the result, but I imagine the light and colors from the rotating Earth projected on the node's walls. | |
