Looking at the NASA-produced Significant Incidents and Close Calls in Human Spaceflight chart,, I was intrigued to see the "SRB Seal Events" section include "SRB Gas Sealing Anomalies" for flights after 51-L, listing STS-42, 71, 70 and 78.
A quick Google search brought-up the mission report for STS-42, which lists the incident as not critical to "safety-of-flight" as the primary o-ring was not affected, but that an investigation was on-going.
Does anyone have any more information on any of this? Was just curious. It's not something I've come across before.
