I am curious to know if there are photographs of the place where the space shuttle crew photos where taken. In what building did they shoot, how does the room or rooms look like and what kind of photo cameras were used?
Are there any photographs known of the shoots being taken with a crew? I would like to know the background stories or photographs to see how things took place.

If you apply some simple photo enhancements to the helmets in the photos you can eke out the details of the room (including a few people). This is the "enhanced" reflection in the STS-107 and STS-134 crew photos.

Independently I found that STS-109 crew photo without the background (which I forgot to get Massimino and Grunsfeld to sign during Hubble 25, and I also need Altman to complete it...)
"You've got connections," Duane Carey, said to me, wondering where I had gotten the photo.
