In listening to the audio of STS-1, there is a point, 24 hours into the mission, when Capcom Joe Allen asks the crew to look down to possibly view Kennedy Space Center.

The crew respond that they can see the Shuttle Landing Facility and Vehicle Assembly Building and Bob Crippen says he would take a photo of it, which he apparently does.

Has anyone seen this picture? Has it ever been published?

I can't find the photo(s) at the 'Gateway to Astronaut Photography of the Earth', although that is probably not complete. In the days after STS-1 I read in a newspaper that several rolls of film were useless because of wrong camera settings.

Thanks for the info Ed - I guess there is no way of finding out if this photo was on those rolls of film?
