This one was hard. When I read Brad's post on FB, I felt like I was punched in the gut. You are a fantastic person, Al. |

Al introduced me to grits and I will never forgive him. I will miss the 72 Dolphins vs Pats talk and collecting conversations. I did not get the chance to tell him I finally had some signed photos for him and they were mailed to him. Sorry Al.You will be missed! |

I met him once around the year 2000 while I was a touring musician for Cirque du Soleil. A very generous an engaging collector. To thank me for a very small favor I was doing him, he gave me right off the bat a leather-bound copy of von Braun's "History of Rocketry and Space Travel," plus a few other items. A fine memory... |

I'm so sad and shocked to hear of Al's death. We shared political views on FB, he was such a genuinely good guy who adored his family and was a selfless friend. We spoke for an hour on the phone a couple of weeks ago, we were looking forward to seeing each other at Spacefest and he was joy to everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. RIP my friend. |

This news came as a great shock. Al was a great guy, a gentleman and so warm in his personality. I meet him a couple of times at Autographica's here in the UK and had some great conversations over a variety of topics, not only space themes but notably about the police in the UK and USA. My late father served in the police here in the UK Midlands for 30 years and several members of my close family are also former officers. So, as with the military, I have a close affection for the police service here in the UK and always enjoy learning about different law and order approaches in other lands. Al was helpful in that by explaining the American service. RIP Al |

Very sorry to hear. Al was part of the landscape of familiar names that made up mine and I'm sure many others' space collecting fraternity for many enjoyable years. |

Sad news indeed. Al helped me with aviation and space collecting for many years. I shall miss him a lot. |

A collector friend of mine put an X-2 flown cover up for sale the other day. My first thought was that Al might be interested. Then I remembered. It put a knot in my gut... |

For some reason, I only found out about this today. What a shock. I didn't know Al like you guys did but he helped me with a few things and was very friendly whilst doing so. I know it's a cliché but life really isn't fair sometimes! |

Sad to hear. I don't think I met him, maybe at KSC or somewhere? He was a familiar name and space collector here on collectSPACE. |
