Designer Heron Preston debuts spacesuit streetwear for NASA 60th

Five years after first emailing NASA about designing spacesuits, streetwear designer Heron Preston is a step closer to fashion's final frontier.

Preston, who has worked with Nike and Kanye West, said in a 2013 interview with The New York Times that his dream collaboration was with NASA. He has now launched an outerwear line that takes cues from the space agency's visual history on its 60th anniversary.

Okay, reading through the article, note that the little backpack is listed at $1,342 retail. If that is not a typo then it won't be a mass produced item.

The price is not a typo, and the backpack sold out within the first couple of days of being offered through multiple retailers.

This is a fashion collection, not a mass produced apparel line.

NASA reintroduced the "worm" logotype as permissible on commercial apparel and merchandise in 2017. It remains retired as an official logo of the space agency.

Well, if it's a fashion collection, not meant to be mass produced, then buyers should be aware some of the items can't be worn past Labor Day...
