Since Mark Vande Hei is still on the International Space Station, perhaps the other Minnesota astronaut, Karen Nyberg, will be one to look out for at the Super Bowl this weekend in Minneapolis.

Would not be surprised if Mark photographs Minneapolis before he returns back to Earth at the end of the month.

Many other planes will fly over Super Bowl 52:

U.S. Air Force Heritage Flight is scheduled to perform the flyover at the start of the game Sunday. The Heritage Flight will consist of one F-16 Fighting Falcon, two A-10 Thunderbolt IIs, and one P-51 Mustang flying in formation over U.S. Bank Stadium. This is the first time the Heritage Flight team will conduct a flyover for a Super Bowl, and it will be broadcast live on NBC and in U.S. Bank Stadium from multiple vantage points, including from a camera mounted on the P-51 Mustang.

The teams in the flyover for the game will be the F-16 Viper demonstration team from Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina; the A-10 Thunderbolt demonstration team from Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona; and a vintage P-51 Mustang from the Air Force Heritage Flight Foundation in California.

Pepsi's 30-second spot before the half-time game will include a reference to Apollo; the extended version of the commercial (below) mentions Mars, too.

Mars also gets a mention in Amazon's 90-second ad, which features Jeff Bezos.

I happened to see the F-16, two A-10s, and P-51 flying a practice run in formation about 15 miles NW of Minneapolis on my commute home today. It was a very cool random sight to see.

I'm guessing he's too old to be flying now, but didn't Bill Anders fly his P-51 for the Heritage Museum, and wasn't his son an A-10 pilot?

Yes, and Greg Anders is on the Air Force Heritage Flight Foundation team with Steve Hinton, who is piloting the P-51 this weekend.
