The Chicago Cubs ended Major League Baseball's longest championship drought by beating the Cleveland Indians 8-7 in Game 7 of the World Series on Wednesday night (Nov. 2). Soon after the win, NASA and a number of astronauts reacted on Twitter. From the space agency (@NASA): Congratulations to World Series champions Chicago Cubs! In your honor, here's a pic of Chicago from space. From HiRISE (High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment) on NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter: Congratulations, Cubs! We at Mars salute you! From Doug Wheelock: Congratulations Cubbies! Great season for both of these iconic American cities Chicago and Cleveland! An out of this world World Series! From Mike Massimino: Congrats to the Cubs and their fans, great game tonight. From Mark Vande Hei: Congratulations to the Cubs! Thanks to both the Cubs and Indians for an incredibly entertaining World Series! From Terry Virts: Wow! #Cubs #Chicago #WorldSeries From Buzz Aldrin: Congrats Chicago Cubs on winning the World Series! From Scott Kelly: Go Cubs! Crazy to think the last time they won the World Series was at the dawn of flight! Amazing how far we have come! From Dan Tani: Go Cubs Go! #FlyTheW here at The American School in Japan in Tokyo!!! Lots of fans here! | |
