Interesting fact I just read:According to UK bets, the odds that President Obama admits the moon landings were faked are 10 times more realistic (1:500) than Leicester winning the soccer cup now (1:5000 at the beginning of the season!). Sad or funny? |

One of the clubs, Paddy Power, said that it was mistake to set the odds as they did: "In hindsight, we were idiots offering odds of 5,000-1," the company said in a statement. In related news, Tom Hanks said he had put 100 pounds on the Foxes (the payoff would be half a million pounds) but it is believed he was joking. |

One thing is sure, Tom Hanks didn't put any money on the "moon landings were faked" bet. |

Update: Leicester won the Premier League title by default. The city has seen quite an amount of publicity of late. In 2012, the remains of Richard III (of Shakespeare and hunchback fame) were discovered and re-buried. He died during the last battle of the Wars of the Roses, marking the end of the Middle Ages in Britain. |

What is it about Americans that they like mucking about with our history? Leicester won the Premier league not by default but because they were the best team. Further, Richard 3 was not a hunchback but suffered from a curvature of the spine that caused one shoulder to be slightly higher than the other. Shakespeare rewrote history for the Tudors to make them more acceptable. Now - if one wants to be really sarky about Leicester one has to go back to Terry Wogan who always talked about it as "the lost city...". Perhaps not any more. |

Please define "default"? As much as it pains me, Leicester scored more points than any other team in the league and were much the better side for the majority of the season. If that is default, I only wish Everton could default on a regular basis: oh...I forgot, they do already! In fact, they are remarkably good at it |

I think the original posting could escalate into what playing soccer on the moon would be like!! Watching players leaping to head the ball would be quite amazing! Anyway, well done Leicester truly deserved!! (From a frustrated Arsenal fan!) |

Rick, you could always be a long suffering Sunderland fan like myself. I wonder what the odds would have been on us surviving relegation for so many consecutive seasons? Hopefully we can pull another rabbit out of the hat this time as well. That requires real effort and consistency above and beyond simply winning the league once! |

Ah, sorry but I guess my Scots background may have come through in my comments. If any football or English monarch fans are offended, my apologies |

At least you said 'Scots' rather than 'Scotch' though perhaps the latter might be more appropriate occasionally. |

Aside from soccer I still believe 1:500 is a really "sad" quote for the moon landings being faked. Even the pope playing soccer in the Italian soccer league is more unrealistic!Sad world... |

Technically speaking, the published odds aren't for the moon landings having been faked, but for the U.S. President to state that they were faked. One might assume the two are the same thing, but then were either to have happened, we're talking about a conspiracy, so all bets are off (so to speak). |
