Next week, a Kickstarter campaign will be announced to help finish funding a new short film by Lauren Oliver. The film, "T-Minus," is about a fictional Mercury astronaut preparing for his first flight with hidden issues.

I have been consulting on the film for a few months and have built the full scale Mercury capsule to be used. The script is very cool and well written. The director has cast all the parts and some of the actors have some pretty good pedigrees.

We will be in the studio in August, with filming planned for September. I'll keep updating and also link to the Kickstarter as soon as it's up.

Lauren wanted to get things rolling and we thought the announcement here on collectSPACE first would be appropriate.

T-Minus tells the story of the fictitious "Victory 7" and astronaut Benjamin Fletcher.
The story takes place in the final moments before the most important event in Col. Fletcher's life: his first flight into space. He's spent four years training and is as mentally and physically prepared as possible, with one exception — a potentially fatal heart problem that he's been hiding from both NASA and his family.
Mr. Oliver consulted with Rene Carpenter (Scott Carpenter's first wife). I've read the script, and I'm sure the collectSPACE community will want to see this film be made.

Please visit the Kickstarter page and help give Mr. Oliver the chance to make this bold and exciting movie!
