We can now add Ben Stiller to the list of actors who have portrayed John Glenn on film and screen — if only briefly.

In the trailer for "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" (20th Century Fox, December 2013), Stiller (who also produced and directed) plays Mitty, a LIFE Magazine photo editor.

(The character of Mitty in this movie has been updated from the 1947 Danny Kaye film, which was based on a short story by James Thurber.)

In one scene, we see Stiller running through a hallway lined with oversized iconic LIFE covers, with his face replacing at least two of the historic figures, Olympic swimmer Mark Spitz and astronaut John Glenn.

The latter is a take on the Feb. 2, 1962 cover, "Making of a Brave Man." Looking closely, the film's cover also replaces John Glenn's name where it reads, "Walter Mitty's Personal Album" and "Astronaut Walter Mitty."

All times are CT (US)
