I may get into this revitalised gardening trend that's kinda 'sweeping' UK at moment called 'Lunar Gardening'. HRH Prince Charles uses this technique at his Duchy of Cornwall
estates.It's based around the phenomena of the gravitation pull of the moon setting up two tidal bulges on opposite sides of the earth.
These same forces affect the water content of the soil, creating more moisture in the soil at the time of the new and full moon. This increased moisture encourages the seeds to sprout and grow.
I think the idea is that you follow the lunar phases and sow/plant seeds,plants around these phases - especially when tidal forces.
There are a lot of web pages around on this subject and a couple books - both sides of Atlantic.
