Hi,I have just reserved a couple of seat`s for Alexander Volkov`s presentation at the Cardiff Museum on th 8th March 2003. I would be interested to know if Mr Volkov will sign autographs. Has anyone attended any of his past presentation`s.? Anyone else attending this presentation ? Regards, Andrew |

Hi Andrew, I saw Alexander Volkov last year in Wales and hope to attend this event too. He and Martynov both signed freely last year but were charging £5 if you whanted a Mir printed picture signed by them. They had also a few books for sale but the contents seemed to be directed more for children. When Matynov and Usachev visited Bradford a few months ago they also signed for free and had a few things for sale i.e. a few autographed unflown stamp covers etc. I don't think you will have a problem getting an autograph. Volkov is happy to sign, it all depends on the event organizers allocating the time. I remember last March after the talk in Cardiff Volkov drove to Bath and gave another talk there that day. All the best Oliver |

The MIR photo which Volkov signs is an artist's impression(with buran docked),his portrait and Martinov's are inlaid.I reckon Volkov knows more English than he lets on!Might be worth asking him about his cosmonaut son.------------------

AndrewI first met Colonel Volkov in 1998. He has always been very generous in signing for me. I am sure I have more autographs from Colonel Volkov than any other cosmonaut or astronaut in my collection by a factor of at least three. I would like to meet him again but I am not sure if I can get to Cardiff on 8th March. I need to check a few things this weekend. Derek His son Sergei was born in 1973 and like his father is an Air Force pilot. He has been training on ISS as a main expedition crew member. Best wishes Rob Wood |
