This photo shows an Apollo command module boilerplate drop test at Kennedy Space Center's Pad 39B in 1967.

This document describes several other sites at Kennedy Space Center (KSC) where similar drop tests were done. See map on page 23. There were 13 different drop tests done at KSC on various surface types: fill material (Pad 39B), palmetto, grass, organic muck, and shallow water. The test vehicle was BP-25.

This 1968 photo shows another drop test location farther away from Pad 39B. One of the Mobile Launchers can be seen in the background. Note that the LUT crane cable is lowered.
