Is this four-panel experiment removed from the Gemini 8 Agena target vehicle during Mike Collins' EVA on Gemini 10 on display anywhere? If in storage, where? Four panels of experiment S-10 carried on the Agena Target Vehicle launched for the Gemini 8 mission. This package of test panels was retrieved from the Gemini 8 Agena by astronaut Michael Collins during the Gemini 10 mission. Experimenters expected micrometeorites to bombard the panels during their stay in space. |

According to the Dudley Obseratory: This S-10 may be the only one that made it back to earth. It is now on display in the museum’s gallery... |

According to contemporary reports this British experiment was thrown out with the rubbish before re-entry. |

The Dudley Observatory issued their report on this experiment, dated 28 October 1968, as NASA CR-108531. |

The Gemini 10 mission report states that the S-10 experiment returned to Earth (as it was undergoing further study at the time the report was written). The photo above is also captioned in the report as having been taken post-flight. |

Robert is correct. It was the S-12 micrometeorite collector mounted on the Gemini adapter directly behind Collins hatch which he also retrieved but this apparently floated out of the hatch and was lost. |

Thanks for the replies. Good to know the S-10 is in a museum. |
