We all know that after his death, the Apollo 11 data acquisition camera (DAC) was recovered from Neil Armstrong's personal collection.

I have read elsewhere that one of the techniques used to enhance spy satellites photos has been to "profile" the lenses from the individual cameras. I'm wondering if anyone has heard of an attempt to do this with the Apollo 11 DAC, and then apply the corrections to a scanned version of the landing and surface exploration?

That leads me to ask whether the out-of-focus DAC footage of Armstrong climbing down the ladder could be "sharpened?" I'm not necessarily referring to lens-profiling. I'm thinking more of the deconvolution process used to sharpen the early out-of-focus Hubble telescope images (before the first shuttle repair visit). Would that be possible?
