I'm researching the facilities at Cape Canaveral Launch Complex 14 (Mercury era). There was an "instrumentation room" located directly under the egress/umbilical tower. I'm looking for any information: descriptions, schematics, or photos of that room.

There is almost nothing available online. Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Okay, let me try another question regarding the LC-14 instrumentation room. Several of the very vague descriptions of the room refer to "land line communications," does that ring a bell with anyone?

I'm assuming that the room's location, under the umbilical tower, would indicate that it routed communications from the blockhouse to and or through the tower to the spacecraft. This is only a guess. Can anyone give me any clarification on the room's function?

Got this from a friend. Hope this helps.

There were a number of rooms under the pad area where the missile roll up to the missile service tower and umbilical tower. The room under the umbilical processed some of the missile data before being sent to the blockhouse. The room also had checkout equipment for checkout the cable, connectors and boxes going to the missile. It also was used for checkout the support equipment and the missile components when the missile was brought to the pad, on the pad and before launch. Also in the other room they had propellant loading equipment for the RP-1 and LOX.

The equivalent rooms on other pads are called PTCR (pad terminal connection room), P-Van/G-Van, SEB, Payload users room.

Was any of the information that passed through the instrumentation room voice based communication? I've been researching a "communications outlet box" that was located near, if not inside, the instrumentation room. My understanding is the box was a vital component in the pad-blockhouse intercom system.
