Interesting 4-Man Apollo Rescue Mission study by North American Aviation of a possible rescue mission in lunar orbit using a modified Block II Apollo CSM as the rescue vehicle.

Something must have made NASA realize that one crewmember was not enough to fly an Apollo on a rescue mission.
This is an interesting study in light of the two-man rescue crew that was posited for Skylab. I would believe that effecting a rescue of a stranded crew from lunar orbit would have been far more demanding than a LEO Skylab rescue.
