I see some great answers here to technical questions. So, I thought I would throw this question out there.

Did the thrust of the LM Ascent stage, or anything else for that matter, on the LM change from Apollo 11 through 17 to get more weight off the Moon's surface?

I have read so much detail about how the Saturn Launch vehicle was modified to carry more payload. Everything from launching into a lower Earth orbit, to I think even dropping some stage separation rocket motors if my memory serves me right. All of this was done to get more perishables and the LRV to the Moon.

But was anything done to the LM to specifically get those extra couple of hundred pounds of rocks off the Lunar surface?

Kind Regards

Douglas Henry

Doug:
I thought I read that the descent engine and nozel were "improved" for the "J" mission lunar modules which carried heavier weights to the surface.
Don't recall anything on the ascent stage engine, however.
