Is this recently sold Alan Shepard signature printed? What do you think?

(Haven't bought it, just asking. Thank you!)

I have this same photo (8"x10") and the signature and salutation printed on it is absolutely identical in every detail. Sorry.

Thank you for the prompt confirmation, Colin. It looked printed so I did not buy it.

But obviously it needs pointing out that someone somewhere has the original. Whoever bought this one should examine it closely to see if it's "live ink" (as they say!).

This is one of the early NASA photos of Shepard in 1961 that were circulated with a printed signature and inscription. There was even a smaller photo of this one and another self-portrait image with printed signatures as well.

Cool photo. Any idea what building Shepard is standing in front of?

I think its the main headquarters building of the Project Mercury Space Task Group from 1958-63 at Langley Research Center (also known as NASA Langley) in Hampton, Virginia.

Thanks Ken. Yes, I was thinking it might be a Langley building also... lived in Tidewater VA for awhile myself and love the history around that area.

All times are CT (US)
