With all the upcoming space auctions I was wondering if anyone had a preference with which one to consign to? I received inquiries or correspondence from Heritage and Sothebys and they have offered similar terms, but I'm on the fence with who to use as I've never consigned to either. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

When consigning very rare items it does seem that both auction houses produce outstanding results. Although Heritage has has been exceedingly successful with the Armstrong auctions not only with the Armstrong collection but with most everything sold in those auctions.

For the more common items RR Auction is a safe bet but if your a philanthropist the American Space Museum auctions have had very solid results and every dollar goes to charity.

I have been very much pleased with RR Auction, both in buying and selling.

While never selling on RR Auction I have worked with them on a number of items providing input to value and authenticity. I find them ethical and dedicated to getting the provenance as accurate as is possible with the items we in the space community collect.

As a buyer I have nothing but praise with my transactions and would expect the same for sellers as well.

I used to bid with RR Auctions, and consigned to them once, with good results.

They lost me though, when they doubled their minimum lot price to $240 ($200 minimum bid + 20% buyer's premium).

All times are CT (US)
