There is an interesting item on eBay finishing soon. Neil Armstrong signed copy of "First On The Moon" book (362423049666). Any opinions would be appreciated, I'm thinking of risking a bid.

I am not an expert, but it certainly looks suspicious to me. It appears there is a correction with the (N) and also it seems as though there is hesitation with the (A). Hopefully others will offer an opinion.

If you look at the back of the signed page, it looks to me like the signature was an attempt at tracing. Unfortunately, the end result is the defacing of a first edition of "First on the Moon." Fortunately, they printed a lot of those books in the first edition so they are pretty easy to find.

I'm pretty comfortable in saying that book was not signed by Neil Armstrong.

Thank you for taking the time and having a look and sharing your thoughts. I did not bid. It sold for $494 with 17 bids. Interestingly the auction was one day duration.

All times are CT (US)
