Here is my nomination for the worst forgery of the week, and it has a COA as well.

Oh my. Forgeries one can spot on a small monitor from the other side of a room.

Forget those awful signatures, what I love about the document of authentication is that Michael Ciravolo's name at the bottom is not even spelt correctly (I checked, and it's not spelt Micheal).

Here is my nominee for forgery of the week this week, though forgery might be too weak of a word for this and others on his site.

I don't know if anyone else noticed, but on site with the Schweickart photo there's also one listed for William F. Gordon. Who's he? Looks a lot like Richard Gordon. Twin maybe?

I agree with Mike. It almost looks like the COA was signed with the same pen as the photo!

Mike — and to think that some victim paid $700 for the fraudulent Apollo 11 "signed" photo. Ouch! Buyer beware.

And here is another. Not from eBay this time. But it comes with a COA. The only one accepted by this auction house. And may not be able to be sold online. Why? Because it is a bad forgery?

And the MCollins actually has a $5 bid in it, perhaps to just have the photo to erase the forgery?

Here is this week's best (worst) and it has a starting bid of only $90.

I like how it is Neil and Buzz and one other. Collins is now an other. Oh and it is certified by AAA, with a sticker and everything. Don't they authenticate road maps (yes I know maps are out of date).

I just got through reading all the posts and looking at all the best/worse nominations and I was totally blown away with what people are trying to sell as authentic, especially the COAs. The best COA comment, for me, was that the baseball commissioner authenticates space autographs.

After my tears and stomach stopped hurting from laughing so hard, I thought how horrible this really is. As a new collector, I have been very careful to purchase from trusted sellers, on cS and others known in the industry, however I have purchased items on eBay as well. Mainly items easily verifiable like NASA photos, Topping models, etc., no autographs.

When you find these forgeries/fakes on eBay, isn't there a way to notify eBay and have them taken down?

You can report the item, but I have never seen eBay take them down, even the very bad first items I posted.

And now the latest one I posted above has 5 bids... sad.

eBay will not enforce any policy to do with forgeries or false ads but PayPal will force them to refund your money if you're smart enough to notice the scam or to have the item checked after the purchase by someone qualified.

At least as of this morning, it would appear that Invaluable has stopped the sale of the last item Fred brought to our attention.

Here is another one. I can't believe it has one bid. Looks like a child's scribble.

Another really bad item. But it comes with a COA and a hologram.
Genuine Authentic Buzz Aldrin autographed SS Moon/Mars Card. Also included is Genuine Alan Bean autographed SS Moon/Mars Card. Cards are uniquely stamped with tamper-proof hologram corresponding with the COA.

All times are CT (US)
