Somebody may have just bought themselves an expensive dust cloth. Many military parachutes bear this color scheme. Other attributes of the offered item are inconsistent with the Apollo command module parachute. Another example of why bidders need to do their homework prior to taking the plunge. |

Highly suspicious, isn't it? Particularly since there is no clear identification with a specific Apollo mission, just the phrasing "Apollo vintage..."I'd take a pass. |

Did you happen to notice who the seller was? |

That's an interesting turn of events, isn't it? Although, to be fair, though a very knowledgeable and professional dealer, he is just as susceptible to mistakes as the rest of us.If he had more information than was in the description, it would've been nice to see that included in the description (though it's not rare for his descriptions to be vague like that). If he didn't, it's possible that he got scammed himself. This does, however, highlight the growing problem of descriptions like that, which one sees more and more. I always pass when the description contains only what was provided by the title or just the size of an autographed picture with no further details, but, for whatever reason, people still buy, so there's no incentive for dealers to change. | |
