Does anyone have any experience shipping from Russia to the USA? I recently purchased a space item from a Russian seller. The estimated delivery date is late February to mid-March. Does that seem accurate?

I have a tracking number for it through Russian Post, so I can keep an eye on the delivery progress. I'm just not sure if the estimated delivery date is accurate or not. That seems like an awfully long time to deliver a small package.

Assuming you purchased this from eBay or Amazon (both of whom give you delivery times), so long as customs don't delay your package by any amount, the dates are usually quite accurate.

Thank you for the response. Yes, the item is from eBay. I guess I'll just have to practice some patience.

Additionally, as soon as the package enters the US you should be able to track it via USPS. Most standard service providers work together like that.

For track, I advise 17track.net, which works with almost all the postal services.

Thank you both. That's good information to know.

It just so happens that I received my very first Russian item bought on eBay, a signed cover. Bought Dec 27/2016 arrived Jan 17/2017. The eBay had the delivery arrival dated at Feb 9/2017 -Feb 28/2017 so it came early!

Glad to hear you had a smooth transaction. I'm hoping my purchase arrives a bit early, as well.

And don't be surprised when there are no updates in the tracking system for days or even a week or more, sample from my last package:
accepted by Russian post 12/8
processed through facility Moscow 12/16
processed through facility New York 12/29
processed at USPS Facility Detroit 1/1
delivered 1/3

I regularly send from Russia, but only registered letters. They usually come to USA within 3-4 weeks. The longest was 2,5 months, but that was only once over the years.

I received my item today, about 2 1/2 weeks after ordering. So, it was much better than the estimated delivery timeframe on eBay.

After some of the stories I've read online about delivery from Russia to the USA, I was pretty nervous, but it was actually quite painless.

All times are CT (US)
