I saw this Neil Armstrong WSS portrait on eBay (item: 252712552366) and my initial thought is it is an autopen — seems to be somewhat jerky and have pen stops.

Looks like it will sell as an expensive autopen or a cheap original. What do you think?

Thanks for all replies.

This one also fails the other eBay test - the more elaborate the explanation, the less likely it is to be genuine.

In fairness to the seller, I don't think he was using a long winded explanation to intentionally swindle anyone. The item description specifically notes that it is uncertified and, basically, he has no idea whether it's authentic or not, with the only providence being his childhood recollections of the deceased Uncle Milroy. The rest of the rambling, misspelled diatribe aside, that alone should be enough for someone to take a step back on an item before pouring, in this case, upwards of $500 into it.

All times are CT (US)
