I've seen photos signed as Wally Schirra, but not of one signed Walter M Schirra. Yes, I agree the inscription appears to be done in a different hand. Thoughts?

The litho appears to vintage, going by the thin paperstock and the typeface of the name at the bottom.

It's an early vintage Mercury-era signature of Schirra and is in his own handwriting from what I can see.

I'm intrigued about who the "Orchid" man was...

I'm guessing he was probably a street vendor who sold flowers, possibly to Wally Schirra sometimes?

Could be Georges Carpentier.

Thanks, all! I was looking for a Schirra photo that wasn't too expensive, something different. If it had been a casual (e.g., non-portrait) photo it would have been better, but I too was intrigued by the caption.
