Does anyone know if there are items out there that have the original NASA seal on them? I'm talking shirts, mugs, etc. And I'm not talking about items made back then but made today. While I'm asking, are there many original items out there that do have the original NASA seal on them (eBay)? Thanks! |

Per the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), the use of the NASA Seal is limited to: - NASA award certificates and medals
- security credentials and employee identification cards
- NASA Administrator's documents
- plaques (for display in the agency's auditoriums, presentation rooms, lobbies, offices of senior officials)
- the NASA flag and the NASA Administrator's, Deputy Administrator's, and Associate Deputy Administrator's flags
- NASA prestige publications
The Associate Deputy Administrator can authorize additional uses on a case-by-case basis, but it is generally not approved for merchandise (souvenirs). |

Very interesting. Learned something new. In the four months that I've been into space, I always thought that the seal was the NASA logo and was transformed into the Meatball like in the 70s.Nice to know that the seal is still being used today. I think it looks really cool and very 50s\60s. Thanks Robert! |

There's a good (free) NASA publication about the history of agency's insignia, "Emblems of Exploration: Logos of the NACA and NASA" that if you're interested in the topic, traces the evolution of the seal, meatball and worm. |

Thanks again Robert. That's great stuff! Now back to my original post regarding items with the NASA seal. Probably not a lot out there since it's used more for official items, correct? | |
