A lucky occurrence happened in my life today! And I truly cherish them because they seem to be few and far between. I ordered a used copy of Gene Cernan's "Last Man on the Moon" online for a few bucks and even "splurged" for a hardcover. Much to my surprise, the book showed up today signed, uninscribed, and a true first edition, first printing! Score!I am curious though, the book had a "Compliments of Coca-Cola" label on the inside and in doing some googling, it seems a number of other books of various printings seem to have this same sticker. Does anyone know anything about this relationship between Cernan and Coke? |

Called them in Atlanta. I'll update response, when and if they respond. |

Hey, thanks! I was starting to think this one may go unsolved. I'm sure this isn't the only book Coke has given away before, probably far from it. I suppose it wouldn't even be strange for him to be at an event sponsored by Coke, but it seems like there are more than a handful from different years. Curious. |

I have a copy of "Moon Shot" signed by Alan Shepard that has a sticker on the dust jacket touting the "TBS television event." I have always thought that my book was perhaps a perk offered to employees of that company. |

Great score on your book! I attended a trade show years ago where one of the speakers was a self-help guru of some kind I had never heard of before or since. Each attendee was given a signed copy of her book. Each book had a "Compliments of" sticker with the name of the sponsor. Probably a similar situation. Oh, and in case you are dying of curiosity, the speaker was lousy, but not as lousy as her book. |

Wasn't it TBS that made the documentary called "Moon Shot"? |

Yes, TBS produced and aired the documentary based on the book.I cannot say for certain, but I believe the TBS stickers were added to books being sold at certain locations (e.g. the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex). |
