Did he sign Mike as often as Michael?

Generally, he started signing "Michael" at his first Novaspace signing in 2004. "M" / "N" and "Mike" / "Mile" / "Nile" were his pre-Novaspace variations.

He signed as "Michael Collins" early in his career too, seeming to stop around the time the Apollo 11 mission (or shortly after).
As demand for his signature increased, he changed to either signing as "Mike Collins" or "MCollins."
I seem to recall that Novaspace requested that he sign as "Michael Collins" again for the paid signings, because they assumed that's what most customers wanted. I agree that was a good move on their part.
(Now if they could only talk Frank Borman into signing the last two letters of his last name!)
