There is a guy selling Apollo 11 First Foot Print pins that supposedly have flown metal of the Apollo 11 command module. Are those real?

On the back side of the pin it has: "First Footprints Apollo Program NASA Official Edition, Contains Command Module Metal Flown to the Moon, Limited to 20,120 Pieces."

He already sold more than 750 pins!

Yes, they are real. The pins were produced for NASA by Winco International and the eBay seller is a known reseller of Winco's products.

The flown metal is symbolic. A very small amount of flown metal was added to the melt used to produce the pins. Also, the command module is not specified. The metal is from a command module that flew to the moon, but may not necessarily be Apollo 11's Columbia.

Thank you! I was wondering if they're real or not because you can find them for only 10 bucks!

I'll receive mine in a couple of days...

All times are CT (US)
