I am under the impression that Jim Irwin autographs on "one of a kind" photos are extremely rare. The below photo was signed by Jim after a crew training "fit and function" exercise at Kennedy Space Center on June 29, 1971 that I co-conducted. Both Jim and Dave Scott participated in preparation for their July 26, 1971 Apollo 15 liftoff. Can anyone tell me if this is worth more than the "run of the mill" Irwin signed presentation? |

If that's an 8x10 glossy, then in my opinion, yes. |

In my opinion, yes it is worth more than your average run of the mill inscribed image. Speaking as a collector the inscription kills the potential value but to you Dan... it is surely priceless. |

From my collection, too.I remember Mr. Irwin as well. I got his autograph, I also correspondence. He very kind and helpful, understanding full well. I've also got his book To Rule The Night. He also gave me this. I am very proud that I got a gift from him as well. |

I strongly disagree that it "kills" the value. It does reduce the value in the collectors market somewhat, but I think the photo still retains significant value, even as a personalized piece. |

I agree that "kills" the value is strong. It's a tremendous piece with fantastic provenance and, more importantly, great personal importance.Items like this, to me, carry more significance than items presented to someone who signs them "by rote," and if a collector is ever lucky enough to be in the position to own an item like it, they should count themselves to be very fortunate. |
