I was fortunate enough to get all of the original build paperwork for Neil Armstrong's S/N 056 suit from a former ILC employee. In the papers were two (2) original labels that were removed from the suit after Neil did the acceptance fit-check but prior to the Apollo 11 mission. I have all documentation to prove it.

I was wondering what the value might be for these labels? Any ideas? I have photos if anyone is interested in seeing it.

A difficult piece to value as there is no precedent for such.

But I have seen photos of the piece and the supporting documentation and it is an awesome piece of historical significance certainly worth a penny or two.

If the labels are like this, then I would hazard a guess at $400 to $600 (each, if offered separately) at auction at minimum, given the interest that anything clearly attached to Armstrong seems to attract.

Mounted, matted and framed with a photo of Armstrong wearing the suit could make for an eye-catching display.

For what it is worth, I suggested that the label with corroborative documentation would be worth approximately $1000 each.

The labels are the older style design typical in 1968.

That's very possible; my estimate was based on an absolute minimum. I could just as soon see each selling for $1,000 (at auction) given the stated interest in all things Armstrong.

Concur with 1K estimate (that's what I would pay).

All times are CT (US)
