I have come across this autographed cover of Scott Carpenter, and I would like to ask the group, in addition to the Scott Carpenter signature, does this cover also have the signature of Edward Givens (top left)? If it is then I have a follow up question, is Givens autograph desirable as a test pilot or as a "selected" astronaut that died early in the space program? I have found very little references of him on eBay or similar venues. |

Interesting signature - first time I have seen name written as "Edward" all the others I've seen are written as "Edw" - also, the middle initial "G" and "G" in Givens are widely separated ... usually almost touching. The "ve" in Givens has a break between the "v" and the "e" I've never seen in any other Givens signature. Always have also seen "Jr." at the end of the name. Given the above I have doubts about this signature as others also have as seen in this earlier cS thread on this cover. |

Yes it is the same cover. I am working with my friend's estate. It was enjoyable reading his original question and the responses he received on this. Thank you! |

The key to this piece is the Carpenter signature in my opinion. The Carpenter appears to be a forgery, rendering the other one a moot point. |
