Anyone know what the codes on the frangible nut mean - i.e. were there different versions that point to a certain period of the space shuttle?

I know they had a redesign but wasn't sure if one could pinpoint the flight.

I can't help on the meaning of engraved or permanent markings but do wonder why the serial # has been taped over?

They were less successful covering the date, which I think is MO 04 YR 00 (April 2000). That might align with the auction's inference of use on STS-108 in December 2001.

All times are CT (US)
