Any opinions on this cover? The Anders looks off to me, even for an Anders. |

I thought the Borman and Lovell looked good. I know the Anders looks ridiculous but honestly it's hard to know if someone else signed it or if Anders deliberately signed it ridiculously. |

I had the same thoughts exactly. Good Borman and Lovell and probably even money on whether Anders made an attempt to throw off his signature or someone else signed. If I were bidding, it would be a tough call. |

I'd be surprised if the Anders was authentic. As we know, Anders had a number of different signing styles to confound collectors; however, I can't recall seeing a verified example where he applied an excruciatingly slow and crude version of his "classic style." I have dozens of verified Anders examples that include a variety of styles. Despite the variation, there are often commonalities and even his variants tend to fall into "types." No one can sign truly randomly. Get enough examples over time and patterns emerge. In my opinion, the myth of random Anders signatures, combined with wishful thinking on the part of some collectors, has led to fakes being excused away as "another crazy signature from Bill Anders." |
