Fellow cS'ers, I'm a STEM Ambassador in the UK, themed around space flight and engineering. I take along flight hardware from my company, and some of my personal collection, for a simple show and tell type session, with Q and A.I'm looking for some advice on where (and what) I could get as some small value, but interesting items to give out in schools. There are usually a few really interested students, who, with a little inspiration, could go a long way. I'd like to hand out something that they can relish, and will remind them of my visit and their goal. I usually have pens and trinkets from my employer, but I'm looking for something a little more "special" or tied into space flight. I'm happy to dip into my own pocket for this, as the whole STEM experience is so rewarding, for the students and myself. I'm really open to any ideas you all have, and thanks in advance. I have a blog here if you're interested. Cheers. John |

Take a look at my website: The Space Collective.Astronaut Ice Cream tends to go down well with kids, but there are plenty of things on there for everyone. Do you also attend events? If so please let me know as I also run Cosmic Con and I am currently looking for educators to attend with their displays. The more interactive the better. |

The Buy, Sell, Trade forum often has postings with (some bulk lots) of Space Shuttle flown bookmarks and business cards which are relatively cheap in bulk (as little as 2-7 pounds each I think), both a tangible gift for a special student and somewhat useful in encouraging reading.Good luck, and keep up the great work! |

I think a great option would launch covers. There are thousands available that have been canceled for a wide variety of missions, manned and unmanned. It would give the students an opportunity to research what ever mission cover they receive. |

Thanks rgarner, you have an interesting site there, and I need to take a deeper look. I will mention Cosmic Con when I get back in office. You could also get in touch with your local STEM team through STEMNET.I will be keeping my eyes out for a job lot of flown bookmarks. Sounds perfect. | |
