Okay, out of curiosity, I'll ask what the opinion is on this. This Neil signature is priced below the many dozens of others I've looked at in the last few weeks (which puts in my price range haha).

Is it a fake or just faded one with no interesting context?

I'm not necessarily interested in purchasing it, it just seems that if he accepted an offer below 800-900, it would be pretty cheap compared to most.

I see some clipped signatures for as low as 600 as well. Not ideal specimens for display, but certainly a lot of bang for the buck and they do come with PSA/DNA or JSA documentation, even if those aren't the most preferred firms for space related memorabilia.

I'm just trying to get a feel for what to look out for.

I won't comment on the authenticity of the autograph, but you can get something better for that amount of money or possibly just a little more. You can get an inscribed white spacesuit litho or other photo or poster in that range, you just have to watch for them.

This one is at a sports memorabilia retailer near my home town, so that had its appeal to actually look at it before purchase. Although, that requires me being able to know what I'm looking at.

It is certainly not as nice of a display item as a photo.

I'll keep looking and hopefully learning.

I'd have some trouble with this one were it not for the 2-word inscription above the signature, but as is I don't have much doubt about it being authentic. I also agree with Fred that you can do better as far as price.

This is authentic in my opinion... what you could expect an in-person standing Neil Armstrong signature to look like.

As others have mentioned, the price is a bit high for a signed cut, but perhaps they would accept a lower offer.
