I'm using a free one now at weebly.com. The templates are all built in. You could set up a site with dozens of pictures and captions in an afternoon. You can buy your own domain name for it if you wish. It isn't flashy, but that is actually a good thing, in my opinion. Google Sites works similarly, but I've found their interface to be awkward. On the upside, there are more customizations you can do. |

Another possibility is to get a free blog address (e.g., from Blogspot) and build your website one blog posting at a time. You can then tell the story of one or more collectibles at a time, rather than trying to put everything up at once. |

I did my site on MySpace.com. It was easy to do. |

Another free option would be to create an article on your collection with photos on Wikicollecting.org. |

I did my site using blog software. This is a good way to go in my opinion because it is easy to use and very flexible regarding how you can set it up. I used TypePad but Wordpress is another good option. It is also easy to make a custom URL which is really good for giving people the web address of your site.Dave Scott (not the astronaut) Apollo Artifacts |

I just set one up through GoDaddy.com. I registered a .com domain name for 5 years and set up 10 gb of hosting (with unlimited bandwidth) for 2 years, with the total being about $162. From there, installing the WordPress blog software is easy (plus WordPress is free under creative commons), and I plan on creating my own website theme. You can also set up a Wordpress blog for free at Wordpress.com (and if you want to use a custom domain name, you can either buy a domain name from Wordpress or another website for about $10 a year). Personally I opted to rent server hosting as I plan to include some other stuff on my website as well as the blog. |

one.com — very cheap, also domain name, very reliable. 5, 30 or 60 GB webspace, cheapest is 1,25 EUR/month, webname = 12 EUR, you pay once a year. Live help 24 hours a day. |

I use Angelfire for both my personal website and the Space Unit's website. You can start with a small free site of 20MB (with advertisements) which is great to see if you like it. Later you can buy a larger site (without any advertisements) for as little as $3 per month. You can design your own pages using HTML or use their website builder which requires no knowledge of underlying code. The top package also includes a free domain name, sub-domains and email accounts. |
