The eBay seller thejumpingfrog has listed 100 vintage bare cloth backed Apollo 11 Voyager Emblem Inc. patches with a copy of the original bill of sale on eBay lot No.390325997560 for a Buy It Now of $28.50. This was a RARE patch before this listing. The seller is only selling to U.S. buyers. |

Any of our American friends willing to help us poor Brits get hold of one of these before they are snapped up? I have a vacant slot in my Apollo 11 set waiting to be filled by this particular variant. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. |

The seller e-mailed me to say he will "not ever" again ship out of the U.S.A., for reasons stated with the item.So it looks like if anyone this side of the pond would like to buy any, we will need the services of a middle man. One of our members here on this forum has volunteered to do this, but I won't say who until he posts a reply to confirm that fact. |

Ben, I can just picture you in your volcano lair stroking a white cat as you ponder the elimination of your European patch collecting rivals... quote: Originally posted by benguttery: I have already taken care of one European patch nut and can take care of others too.

And there was I thinking Ben was doing me a favour! I'll have to find myself a proxy to open the spore infested package instead.Levity aside, thanks to Ben for his generosity of spirit in helping me out with this purchase. I hope I'll be able to repay the compliment one day. |

I heartily second that. Mine arrived in England today and looks like it was embroidered yesterday, the colours are so rich and vivid. Thanks for those hands across the water, Ben. |

I'm not a regular patch collector but when I read the thread it sounded like it was a good buy, so I bought two. They arrived yesterday, and like others said, look like they were just made, and the colors, especially on the border, almost glow. Really glad I got these, I'll use these as part of a display or something. Fantastic. Kevin and/or anyone, do you have a little more information/history on this specific run of this specific patch? I'd ask the auctioner but I have a feeling the CS community might know a bit more. |

This is (at least) the second time that this particular seller has offered these patches up for sale on eBay, as I picked up one from him several years ago. They are definitely nice patches, far more attractive and faithful to the original artwork than the AB offerings of the time. Worthy additions to any collection. |

No, sorry Mike, I can't add anymore information to the little we already know about this patch. See Chris Spain's website. Update: 63 have now been sold so far. 37 of the 100 are still left with 3 1/2 days to run. |

I asked this vendor if he might sell me another patch. I had already bought 6 or 8 to pass along to others. He said he does plan on listing more at a higher price! Shouldn't the price be lower now that the market is saturated? |

Logic would say so Ben, but maybe he didn't expect to sell as many as he did in that 30 day listing. He sold 68 out of the 100 patches, (if the sales figures are correct). |

The seller has now re-listed another 50 of these patches, this time at $32.50 (£19.77) each.It begs the question just how many of the original 510 patches on that invoice has he sold, and how many dose he have left from the original consignment? |

I went back through my eBay records, and found that I had bought two of these patches from Jumping Frog back in November of 2002. I seem to recall that they disappeared not long afterwards, and assumed that the seller had more than likely run through his stock. Needless to say, I was more than just a bit surprised to see them resurface after an almost decade long absence. |

Went and ran the name Joseph Piskor (the individual who ordered the patches in 1969) through the Social Security Death Index and found that someone by that name died in Hartford, Connecticut (the address on the shipping label) on March 23, 2001, a little over a year and a half before I first encountered them on eBay.Also of note is the fact that The Jumping Frog, the antique book/ephemera dealer selling the patches, is from Hartford as well, so it's probably a safe bet to assume that they acquired these directly from the estate of the late Mr. Piskor as it was being liquidated. It would be interesting if someone were to contact the owner of The Jumping Frog, Mr. Bill McBride, and see if he might be able to supply us with any further details or info regarding the patches, or possibly even Mr. Piskor himself. |

His feedback is horrendous, including a lot of items never shipped with the excuse of it being lost in storage. Also an alarming number of items the seller claims to have sent, buyers claim not to have received, and the seller's only response is that it wasn't returned as undeliverable (ergo, not his fault/responsibility). It sounds like everyone has actually gotten their patches, but I'd be pretty wary of this seller. |
