I was successful with the following eBay lot and was wondering about the Schirra autographs. I've checked edgeofdarkness and the top signature in each case appears to be a pattern 1 signature. What do people think about the bottom signature in each case? Actually if genuine they would be a bonus as I purchased the lot for the covers, especially the middle one with a double postmark. Quite rare.

The "bottom" signature on all three covers look good to me. The "top" signature on all three are known autopen signatures. If you won for a relatively low price, then I think you got a good deal.

Ross, all three bottom Schirra autographs are genuine; all three top ones are autopen signatures. Per my Project Mercury book, the middle cover with the machine cancellation and the overlaid ship's hand cancel is indeed very difficult to find. You got a great lot!

Thanks MrSpace86 and Steve,
I appreciate your replies. I actually paid $141.50 for these 3 covers which I'm quite happy with considering the bottom two covers in particular. I've seen the third cover without Schirra's signature go for over $60 so I consider my money well spent.
