A remarkable collection of 'astronaut signed' autographs have appeared on ebay from the seller'holyreni'. No feedback score, and user ID kept private. I was particularly taken by the John Young - not quite his usual immaculate penmanship! |

Good find, no astronauts hand came even close to those photos. I would assume she/he will get the photo price only and better finds bidders who don't mind the fake signatures on it. I like the Young photo but the signature is bad. What should I bid? The opening bid of $1.77? Postage is reasonable with approx. $5.30 Did anybody notice it is a German seller who prefers british pounds. By the way I am kidding and will not bid. Funny thing about most of the "autographs". They look to be done in blue Sharpie. Also $1.77 for Neil? I guess they are not worth much anymore. I think fire starters cost more now. [This message has been edited by OV-105 (edited April 26, 2006).] |

I just love the Elvis "signature" on this item. To me it looks like it was signed yesterday. The wear on the item is the only thing that looks original to me.Jeff [This message has been edited by collectSPACE Admin (edited April 26, 2006).] |

My pick for worst forgery is Jim Lovells. "I bought all autographs from in person dealers all over the world" --- Seems like they were ripped off, if they didn't print them out and sign them this morning. ------------------ Mike [This message has been edited by collectSPACE Admin (edited April 26, 2006).] |

I have just looked at all this persons for sale on ebay, i think it is great if you want a bargain Elvis Presley, £1.70/$3.04, the usual price for an authentic Elvis is anything thing from about £1500/$3500. I think i will give this one a miss. Paul |

Hmmmm....Perhaps the Aldrin's were signed by Buzz with his left hand as he was stepping off the ladder and the Apollo 11 (three)is even worse! The worst perhaps is the John Young, OK, I do not profess to be an expert, but is is so obviously rubbish! Do we think ANYONE will be seriously interested in buying any of these? ------------------ Leslie |

Not sure if that's the case here but since we started isitreal here in Germany some of the wellknown (to us) forgers moved their items to ebay UK as they feel safer there plus they take advantage of the 5p days there we don't have anymore. Minimal costs, minimal risks. That's a very sad development, you try to keep one place safe just to have move the crap to another, a perfect example that fakes are global problem. Unfortunately as long as ebay doesn't support such campaigns on a worldwide basis those sellers will be successful again and again.
