Why do you say it's a fake? I'm trying to learn, and I emailed the guy as I was thinking of buying it, and he swares it's good? Your help is appreciated

I just took a look at the lot in question, and it does appear highly suspect. Placing aside Armstrong's signature, Aldrin's signature looks highly irregular.

When you ask for an autograph, its always a possibility that you'll receive a rushed or atypical signature. But what's the chance you'll get two on the same piece?

In this case, not only is Aldrin's signature questionable (for example, the "B" in Buzz is too elongated), but so is Armstrong's. Both look similar to the real deal -- but they both exhibit qualities that are exaggerated or poorly drawn.

So, could this lot be real? Sure. But unless the seller has pictures of Aldrin and Armstrong signing -- or is a close personal friend of either -- than he/she is going to have a very difficult time justifying it as authentic.

All times are CT (US)
