Here is a vintage NASA lithograph of Apollo 16 commander John Young making his famous "jump salute." It is signed clearly and boldly in silver ink.

Update: Sold.

It comes with the Novaspace COA showing that it was autographed at one of their signings in 2008.

For a price comparison, in the last two years one auction company alone has sold 20 Apollo 16 John Young signed photos for over $1,000. "Jump salute" signed photos identical to this one (except on recent glossy prints, not a NASA litho like mine) have sold for $1724; for $1824; and even $2027.

True, on most of those he added "Apollo 16 CDR" and/or "The 9th man to walk on the moon", and I can see the appeal of that. But this is a wonderful signed photo of a fine moment from the Apollo program, for a much lower price than you would probably pay at auction: SOLD AT $950, plus $15 for insured Priority Mail shipping. I would accept two monthly payments. Please let me know if you would like to see a higher-resolution photo.

I am also offering a vintage NASA lithograph of America's first space station, Skylab, in Earth orbit. It features portraits of the three crews' astronauts, and is signed by all nine.

Only a couple of other items signed by all nine astronauts have come up at auction in the last year. An identical litho sold at Heritage last year for $3500, but I'll be the first to admit that price was... unusual. Regency-Superior sold one a couple of years ago for $1250. Just a few months ago, a letter signed by all nine sold for $1799.

This signed photo is $850, plus $15 for insured Priority Mail shipping. I would accept two monthly payments. Please let me know if you would like to see a higher-resolution photo.

The Skylab photo signed by all nine astronauts is still available, and the price has been reduced to $795.

All times are CT (US)
