I have reluctantly decided to put my Gene Kranz high school term paper, "The Design and Possibilities of the Interplanetary Rocket," for sale on eBay.
Gene wrote this paper when he was 16/17 back in 1949. This paper is a fascinating insight into Gene's subsequent career in aviation and NASA and important roles in, most notably, the Apollo 11 and Apollo 13 missions.
The paper is 16 pages in length with illustrations and detailed bibliography.
Each illustration is signed with young Gene's signature and gives us a clear vision of how he pictured the Interplanetary Rocket detailed in this paper. Here is Gene speaking about his high school paper:
The paper is bound in a black heavy leather cover and is in excellent condition, as you can see from the scans in the gallery in the listing. You will see from the cover that young Gene's efforts gained him a "98" and "very good" from his teacher.
This artifact is a unique piece of space history and will make a serious addition to any space history collection. This paper comes with a letter of authenticity from Eugene F. Kranz himself.
