Apollo 1 Official 50th Anniversary CommemorativeI have long held that the Apollo Program would not have succeeded without the sacrifice of the Apollo 1 crew. That accident laid bare the flaws in the spacecraft and the effort to return to flight made the spacecraft better and safer. I was commissioned by the families to design the "Official" 50th Anniversary Commemorative. It will be made by the NASA contractor but my supporters will get the best possible rendition of this special patch. The image shown is not the patch, but a small detail of it. I expect this may very well be my most popular patch of 2017. It will be made next year and then not again by me until 2022. It will not ship until Jan. 15, 2017. This design was created by Tim Gagnon of Titusville, FL and Jorge Cartes of Madrid, Spain. Order Now: Your price is $10 each for this 5-inch patch. Shipping via USPS Priority Mail: $10 domestic USA; $35 for International. Orders can be combined. Please print and send in this form along with your payment. Or you can pay via PayPal and add 5% to your total to cover fees. If you choose this option, please include your mailing address and email me the completed form. You must submit your paid order no later than Oct. 30, 2016. |

I received Tim's Apollo 1 50th anniversary tribute patch and as always he has outdone himself. Beautiful tribute patch, Tim! |

Ours arrived Monday and as said above, it is a fitting tribute to three fallen heroes. |

Really good looking patch, but isn't it incorrect as the flag was blown over on ascent from the surface? |

This is for Apollo 1, not Apollo 11 |

The design is seen here, in Brad MacKinnon's photo of the Roger Chaffee display at the Michigan's Military and Space Heroes Museum, where Tim donated a patch. Very nice and elegant design. It consists of the illustration shown above in a baseball-diamond shape, with "White Grissom Chaffee" and five stars above the lunar scene; "50" at the bottom tip; the Apollo 1 patch below the flag; the words "The conquest of space is worth the risk of life" (spoken by Grissom) at the upper left and right edges and "1967" and "2017" on the left and right bottom edges of the diamond. |

Beautiful display. Will there be a small ceremony on Jan. 27th there? |
