In order to support my friend Ian in his time of crisis, if somebody purchases all five of the autographs listed in his post, I will mail them a signed copy of the just-released edition of "Fallen Astronauts" without charge, worldwide. |

Are the signatures on plain paper (or index cards) or photos? |

A message for Paul Hartunian on this topic; I did get your earlier email and responded straight away but somehow it didn't reach you, so maybe one of our servers doesn't like the other one. However yes, that is a great idea, please go ahead with it. |

I don't know Ian, but I'm happy to help a fellow cS'er. So, to the person who buys all five of Ian's signatures I'll send, at no charge, a 3"x4" color certificate with a flown piece of Apollo 11 Kapton. The Kapton fragment measures about 1/8" x 1/2". I'll also include a copy of the original COA from a retired NASA employee. Plus I'll pay for shipping. |

Having only recently registered on the cS bulletin board, this is my first post. I'm pleased to be able to say that I have bought these five rare signatures from Ian. I think they will be a great asset for my collection.Ken, if in response to your request, you were sent scans of these signatures, I'd appreciate your opinion/comments regarding their quality and authenticity. I am not questioning Ian's integrity for one moment and am sure they have been sold to me in all good faith. I'd like to accept the generous offers made by the two kind gents, Colin and prpro. If it can be confirmed the offers are still valid, I'll email a consignment address and I'm happy to help with shipping costs if required. I can tell from the comments made under this Topic, that we have an enthusiastic, close knit, friendly Forum and I'm looking forward to playing my part in it. |

One would expect that one would ask the experts on this forum about the authenticity or otherwise of signatures before buying. I suggested this before the purchaser bought them. I am at a loss to understand how one can ask about the kind offers made by my friends/colleagues while also questioning the authenticity of the items. I don't profess to be an expert but I certainly believe the items to be authentic. I am placed in the situation of selling some/all of my collection because of major health issues. I have been caught out before. I bought a Joe Walker from a major auction house. I attempted to sell it some time ago but was contacted by a couple of people who advised me that it was in fact a forgery. It was withdrawn from sale. To the best of my knowledge the items are authentic but I have no proof and would certainly welcome expert opinions. |

I can't fault the guy who bought the stuff for asking for a little reassurance. I've done it myself with a few of the items I've purchased through the cS forums. Thankfully, they were all legit. I'm sure that like me, he'll learn to trust cS members a lot more than those who sell on eBay, for example. If someone here says it's legit, it's legit. If found otherwise, there's enough credibility with the members to work out any problems that may arise. The main thing to remember is to work out any concerns you might have before making the purchase. When in doubt, pass. |

For MendipmaNic: The offer of that signed book certainly still stands. My personal email address can be found at the top of my message beneath that little page with the question mark on it. Once I have your name and address the signed copy of "Fallen Astronauts" will be on its way to you. |
