Ian - it's boggling my mind you're not having any takers on the X-15 "3 Amigos" at the "keys ceremony." You have three of the best known names to come out of the X-15 program, including the first man on the moon and the gent who flew the first winged vehicle into space. All three are National Aviation Hall of Fame Enshrinees, and sadly, deceased. For those of you unfamiliar with this pose, it was from the ceremonial "handing over of the keys" of the X-15 from North American (Crossfield) to the USAF (Bob White) and NASA (Neil). A major milestone in the history of the X-15 program, and test/space flight in general. As this was from the Flight Test Historical Foundation fund raising efforts, the provenance is impeccable! This current rate is WELL below the value of this piece alone, WAY below. If I had the cash right now I would own this, believe me. Best of luck! |

I own one of these FTHF signed 8x10's, and I can attest that it is magnificent. I paid more than the asking price for mine a couple years ago.For Ian: Have you considered consigning this signed photo with an auction house that deals in aerospace? I have got to believe that this would sell for enough to net you $1,800 or more even after paying the seller's fee. Just a thought. Tony Landis, who was a driving force behind this fundraiser for the FTHF, said (if I recall correctly) that Armstrong signed fewer than 25 of each image that he autographed. |
